After dinner at Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza on April 11th, our meeting moved to the Julia Fowler Planetarium and the Bradstreet Observatory for a “night under the stars.” Professor and Chair of the Astronomy and Physics Department at Eastern University and a 1976 graduate, Dr. David Bradstreet took us on an entertaining and educational flight through the night sky, including black holes and distant galaxies. Dr. Bradstreet has been at Eastern University for 44 years and is the senior faculty member.
Top photo is a depiction of a black hole, similar that recently photographed by a large international team of astronomers and computer scientists.
